COURSE DESCRIPTION

Welcome to your first Milestones at your A1 level. This is the starting point of a great journey in effective English language learning.

We will begin by watching a video related to a specific topic related to our level, just to pay attention to it, and we can share our thoughts on the video or any questions we have about it in the class forum. You can answer questions like: How did it make you feel? What new words did you learn or come across?

We will then move on to some reflective questions that we will answer for ourselves, introspectively, to engage with our knowledge. This will help us understand where we stand in terms of learning areas for this Milestone, such as: Do you know the numbers in English? Which numbers do you know? Do you know the English alphabet? Which letters do you know in English?

Now, we will start exploring a variety of resources. You can choose from YouTube Shorts, practice singing, watch moderately lengthy videos in English, or even find learning through series or movies. You’ll also find some official Cambridge resources.

With these resources, you can practice vocabulary related to some topics, for example: The Alphabet, with this you can learn how to pronounce vowels, listen to their sounds, and become a spelling master! You can practice even small numbers to start listening to and repeating them calmly, getting them right forwards and backwards. Finally, you can learn a lot of greetings and farewells and a lot of new topics.

Now, you can prepare with activities that will help you improve your speaking, writing, vocabulary, and listening skills through Cambridge resources. You can go through each document and begin actively practicing your knowledge. There will also be an activity at the end that will focus on practicing your speaking, focus on spelling and a simple exercise for numbers.

Sometimes we will find a short reading activity to reinforce the topics covered through reading comprehension. Then, we will move to a deeper section where you’ll find additional resources beyond those on the Cambridge platform. In this space, you’ll have the opportunity to practice grammar.

After you’ve completed this process, remember to schedule your time for synchronous classes with your coach and make the most of this time to practice speaking, focusing on every single topic seen in your Milestone.

Finally, don’t forget to check the platform for your “Eleven Minutes” activities. And at the end of this Milestone, we will have activities where we simulate conversations, visits to other places, practice simulated for new friends and more! Use simple phrases related to greetings, introductions, and farewells.
